East Central Regional Library invites the community to a Minnesota author visit featuring Marge Rogers Barrett at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 28 at Milaca Community Library.
Barrett will discuss her book, Called: The Making & Unmaking of a Nun, which tells of her lively and free-spirited youth as part of a large family in a small town on the prairie in Minnesota; of her calling by God; and of her new calling to marriage and life as both mother and teacher. With joyful and difficult experiences along the way, it’s a story of resilience and spirited immersion in all that life has to offer.
For the last 10 years, Barrett has been teaching classes at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis and Jewish Community Center in St. Paul, running short-short story contests for MinnPost and conducting a variety of workshops. She writes everything, from poetry to nonfiction and fiction.
This project is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
