Yesterday citizens of the City of Cambridge voted on a local option sales tax referendum.
The question ballot read: “Do you approve a one-half (.5) percent local sales tax to fund the construction of a new Cambridge Public Library and East Central Regional Library Headquarters, the City’s street improvement program, and outdoor park development through calendar year 2043? By voting “yes” on this question you are voting to increase the sales tax in Cambridge.”
The official results are in. With 2 out of 2 precincts reporting, the referendum has passed.
