Shadows of Time: Minnesota’s Surviving Railroad Depots

Author Bill Schrankler will discuss his new book, “Shadows of Time… Minnesota’s Surviving Depots” at seven East Central Regional Library branch libraries. The book brings to life 168 of Minnesota’s remaining railroad depots. Bill will share entertaining, fact filled information gathered along with hundreds of photographs, maps and other images. His narrative provides a look at Minnesota railroad history through brief studies of the aging structures that range from opulent buildings to small wooden structures. The evening will be informative for all interested in history, railroads or trains. Several of East Central Regional Library branches’ surviving depots are mentioned in his book including Hinckley, Milaca and Princeton.
